Bruno Guimaraes says he is ‘really happy’ at Newcastle United but has aspirations of moving in the future.
Guimaraes has become one of Newcastle’s most important players and a Premier League star since his £40m switch from Lyon in January 2022.
The 26-year-old, now a regular for Brazil, helped Newcastle finish fourth and qualify for the Champions League last season.
Eddie Howe’s side have regressed this term – sitting 10th with ten games remaining – but Guimaraes remains a figure of interest for some of the biggest clubs in the world.
Premier League champions Manchester City are thought to be planning a £100m move for the 26-year-old but will likely face competition from Chelsea and Liverpool, both fans of the player.
Manchester United have also been linked with Guimaraes and former Newcastle chief Dan Ashworth’s imminent arrival as sporting director could speed up the Red Devils’ interest.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Brazil’s friendly against England at Wembley, Guimaraes said: ‘It’s always been my dream to play here. I’ve always followed the Premier League, it was always my dream to be here.
‘I think ever since I joined Newcastle everything’s been good in my life, professionally and personally.
‘I’m very happy to be playing amongst the best in the best league in the world. I absolutely plan to play here for a long time, but I have other goals as well of moving.
‘But this is something more down the line, I’m really happy to be here in the league.’
French champions Paris Saint-Germain and Spanish giants Barcelona are also said to be keeping tabs on Guimaraes, who will return to action for Newcastle on March 30 against West Ham.
