Erling Haaland believes Arsenal ‘rival’ Martin Odegaard would enhance Manchester City if he switched teams in the summer.
Odegaard has played 141 times for the Gunners since joining north London from Real Madrid, scoring 33 goals and making 23 assists during that period.
He is one of Mikel Arteta’s most crucial players and the 25-year-old midfielder was made captain in July 2022.
There's no indication Odegaard would move to the Etihad from the Emirates but a reporter still asked Haaland about it on Thursday.
Asked if City would be a ‘better team’ with his Norway international teammate Odegaard in the team, Haaland replied: ‘Yes, I think so.
‘There's a good player, and a player that plays for our rivals.
‘He’s just signed a new contract, so it’s not a topic, but at City we have a lot of best players in the world.’
Haaland and Odegaard are currently representing Norway internationally, with upcoming friendly matches against the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Following the international break, Haaland and Odegaard will face each other as City welcome Arsenal on March 31.
Pep Guardiola has described that showdown as a ‘final’ with both teams engaged in a tight Premier League title race.
