Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is set to leave the England camp as a 'precaution', based on reports, which could be a significant setback for the Gunners.
The north London team go to the Etihad after the international break to face Premier League title rivals Manchester City on March 31.
Saka's fitness for that competition is now uncertain, with the winger not participating in England group training on Wednesday before deciding to leave the camp on Thursday.
That's according to The Telegraph, although the FA have not yet confirmed his official withdrawal.
The Three Lions are preparing for Euro 2024 with friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium on Saturday and Tuesday respectively.
Saka has arguably been Arsenal's most important player this season, scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists in 27 Premier League games.
He aims to help the Gunners secure their first top-tier title in 20 years after coming close to beating Pep Guardiola's team last season.
Before the showdown at the Etihad, Arsenal currently lead the table with 64 points, ahead of Liverpool on goal difference, while City are just one point behind in third place.
Arsenal defeated City in a penalty shootout to win the Community Shield in August and also won 1-0 against Guardiola's team when they met at the Emirates in October.
However, Arsenal suffered a 4-1 defeat in their last visit to the Etihad in April, towards the end of the 2022-23 season, leading to the Gunners missing out on the title.
Arsenal played a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday as they prepare for the upcoming match against City.
