Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand really hopes Christian Eriksenis not in the best situation at Manchester United and wants his situation to change.
The midfielder has been overshadowed by Kobbie Mainoo for most of the season and has struggled to make the same impact he did in his debut season at Old Trafford.
Eriksen made a strong impression after joining United for free in 2023 and was a regular starter until he got injured against Reading in FA Cup in January, which kept him out for three months.
The 32-year-old has only started nine Premier League matches this season and rarely plays the full 90 minutes. Eriksen has also spoken to Erik ten Hag about his playing time. This is a worry for Hjulmand, who needs his captain to be in top form for the upcoming European Championships in Germany.

‘It is not the best situation at the moment. I really, really hope that it changes.
‘I’m pretty confident that we will see a fit Christian. He is capable of it. But if this continues, it could be a concern about the level of performance he can deliver without more playing time than what he is getting right now.
‘I really hope that it changes. A player as talented as Christian needs to be on the field, and we really hope that things improve at United. But not playing anymore is not the best situation’.
It’s been a challenging season.
‘I very much hope that it changes. A player as skilled as Christian has to play, and of course we very much hope that things change at United. But not having played anymore is not the best situation.’
