Thierry Henry has named Atletico Madrid and France forward Antoine Griezmann as 'the most underrated player there is'.
Griezmann has proven himself by becoming Atletico’s top scorer with 176 goals, and also played a vital role in France’s World Cup victory in 2018.
However, Henry believes the versatile forward hasn't been given enough credit during his career.
‘We must not forget Griezmann, who shows us that hard work is a skill,’ Henry told Le Parisien.
‘Griezmann is by far the most underrated player there is.
‘We often talk about Kylian, so much so that I am even in favour of abusing him. But Griezmann… look at his passes and his goals.
‘Tell me who in history could play all four offensive positions like him? There aren’t many… Grizou is one of them!’
Griezmann joined the France national team for duty this week, but he won't play in the friendlies against Germany and Chile because of an ankle injury, ending his run of 84 consecutive games for Les Bleus.
France head coach Didier Deschamps stated that Griezmann is ‘not irreplaceable but essential’ for his team's Euro 2024 campaign this summer.
‘With Antoine’s qualities we’re not going to find a player who has his characteristics,’ Deschamps said.
‘A replacement position for position is very, very, very difficult to find. We will arrange things differently.’
