He wrote on X: ‘Yes, I just got out of surgery for a ruptured bicep tendon, and yes, the sheets had it within minutes. God bless ’em. Must be a slow news day…
‘Anyway it was a freak accident, I’m on the mend, and I will continue to fulfill my obligations. #SmackDown’
‘Luckily, fans now know that Norwich born star Aldis will definitely be on SmackDown this Friday, with the blue brand heating up on the road to WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia in just over two weeks.

Aldis has impressed fans with his no nonsense approach to his role, standing firm against larger than life characters like Roman Reigns and The Rock, and his Raw counterpart Adam Pearce.
Previously known as the National Treasure in the National Wrestling Alliance and beyond, it has been a unique way of introducing him to WWE’s audience.
He’s yet to wrestle for the company since debuting as general manager back in October 2023, but he’s become a prominent part of the weekly SmackDown show, which will continue into WrestleMania and beyond.
Earlier last year, he had reached an agreement to work as a backstage producer, a role which he is still carrying out helping wrestlers put together their matches to make sure they fit with the creative vision for the shows.
His fellow Englishman – and current SmackDown commentator – Wade Barrett previously admitted he wanted to see Aldis in WWE, and he had high hopes for him once he arrived.
He exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘He’s a fantastic talker, he’s got a great look, he’s a really good representative for this industry in general, and I love his classic throwback in-ring style.
‘It reminds me a bit of Harley Race, kind of the pompous Englishman element adds to it as well. I’d love to see Nick involved.’
WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on TNT Sports 1.
