Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has named the team he does not want to see win the league this season.
In England, there is a close battle for the top spot in the Premier League, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal having 10 games left.
Real Madrid are currently leading in Spain, while Paris Saint-Germain are in the lead in France and Inter Milan are at the top in Italy’s Serie A.
Interestingly, Bayer Leverkusen, managed by Xabi Alonso, are currently 10 points ahead of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
Ferguson wants Thomas Tuchel’s team to miss out on the league title in Germany as he told the Eintracht Frankfurt website: ‘I always hope to see the underdog win.
‘Bayern fans may not agree with that, but like all the neutral fans in Germany, I really hope to see someone else win the league again.’
Ferguson has also made a daring prediction for Euro 2024 this summer, joking that hosts Germany have ‘no chance’ of beating his beloved Scotland in their opener.
‘No chance (laughs),’ he added. ‘I’m going to see that game live. I must see it.
‘Scotland are not that bad, you know. They have good midfielders, two good fullbacks.
‘Only the striker position has been difficult in the last few years. The Scottish fans are going to be fantastic.’
