Portuguese startup Neuraspace has introduced a free edition of its space traffic management platform in order to encourage more cooperation among satellite operators.
Using information from public sources and partnerships with ground telescope providers, Neuraspace revealed on March 19 that the software platform is now accessible at no charge to operators who want real-time satellite position data to better oversee their activities.
Those who sign up for the service will receive alerts about potential collisions and will have the option to join a chat room to discuss how to avoid the risk.
For an undisclosed fee, operators can upgrade to a premium version that offers collision avoidance suggestions and more advanced analysis tools for potential collisions.
According to Chiara Manfletti, CEO of Neuraspace, both service tiers will aid in promoting transparency and collective efforts in increasingly congested orbits, while also making operations more efficient and reducing disruption risks for operators.
The company recently announced that the platform is already being used by operators responsible for more than 250 satellites in orbit, including one operated by Earth observation provider Dragonfly Aerospace, since its launch in 2022.
