Actress Rebecca Bakes has verified she will return to Emmerdale as Angelica King.
At the beginning of the year, Angelica, Heath and Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) took a car with the plan to go to a New Year’s party. However, on the way, Angelica took over driving from Cathy and ended up crashing into a wall, causing injuries that led to Heath's death.
In the aftermath, a desperate Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and Jimmy (Nick Miles) tried to avoid Angelica going to jail, but eventually realized they had no choice but to prepare to bid farewell to their daughter.
Lately, Nicola, Jimmy and Angelica went to the sentencing and found out that Angelica would be sent to a secure children’s home for eight months.

At home, as word spread among the villagers, Cathy, Wendy (Susan Cookson), Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) and Bob (Tony Maudsley) talked about the fact that Angelica had been sent to a home all the way in Bristol, which means visiting her will be challenging.
Although Angelica has left the village for eight long months, actress Rebecca Bakes has already hinted at the return of her character.
Sharing on her Instagram stories shortly after her departure episode aired, Rebecca said: ‘Had an amazing time filming this storyline can’t wait to get back to it’.
At present, we don’t have the full details of Angelica’s return scenes. It’s possible she could be released early, or be part of scenes where Jimmy and Nicola visit her, or we might have to wait until the Autumn to see her again.
During Angel's absence, the family are expected to struggle, as actress Nicola Wheeler revealed.
‘Initially Nicola reacts strongly because she can’t cope, she doesn’t know how to cope. Jimmy talks to her firmly and says, “Look, this is the situation, we have to deal with it.”‘
‘And looking to the future I would just say what is to come? What is Angel going to be like when she leaves the place? That’s the big question, isn’t it?
‘For eight months of her life Nicola and Jimmy don’t really have any control or influence on her at all. That, I think, is probably quite crushing for a parent. For every parent who’d been in this situation, the fact that they are literally handing their child over. And that’s what they’re doing.’
