Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are among many teams keeping track of Nottingham Forest player Murillo as the risk of demotion becomes a real possibility for the team.
On Monday, Forest were penalized with a four point-deduction for breaking the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.
This has pushed Nuno Espirito Santo’s team into the demotion zone, only one point behind 17th-placed Luton Town with just nine games remaining.
Forest are likely to challenge the penalty but will still try to sell players in the summer to avoid further financial problems.
One of their most valuable players is Murillo, who has done well since his £15million transfer from Corinthians last summer.
Since joining the City Ground, the defender has played in every league match and four out of Forest’s five FA Cup matches.
The 21-year-old has a contract until 2028 but the amount Forest can sell him for may depend on whether they can avoid being demoted to the Championship.
But if Murillo were to be put up for sale, he would have many potential buyers, with the Daily Mail reporting that numerous Premier League teams and clubs in Europe are interested in his services.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle are ‘monitoring the defender’s progress’, while PSG and Barcelona are also interested.
At least one of Forest’s key players must be sold this summer, with The Times claiming that they need to make about £30m in profit from sales to avoid another breach of the regulations.
Key midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and striker Taiwo Awoniyi are among the other names that could end up on the transfer-list.
