An Eton College A student died after collapsing on a sports field over the weekend.
Raphaël Pryor, a Year 13 student, collapsed during a game called Field Game on Saturday.
He suddenly fell to the ground and could not be saved, according to The Sun.
Field Game is a traditional game played at the school in Windsor, where fees are almost £50,000 per year.
Eton’s head teacher Simon Henderson paid tribute to the student: ‘Raphaël was an exceptional young man who lived with joy in his heart, sharing it widely and powerfully.
‘He had a very bright future ahead of him.
‘During his time at Eton, Raphaël brought a lot to his friends and to those who taught and cared for him, including those who played with and against him on the games field, where he excelled as one of the House Captains of Games.
‘The entire Eton community is deeply saddened and shocked by this news.
‘As we mourn his tragic death, our hearts go out to Raphaël’s parents, his family and his friends.'
A mother at the exclusive school informed The Telegraph that the teenager belonged to the same house as her son.
She said: ‘Every parent will know about it. He collapsed on the field while he was exercising and died.
‘It happened and it was very sad.
“From our perspective, I think the school has handled it really well. The housemaster was very close to him.'
Field Game has been in existence since 1847 when it was established at Eton College.
It involves a combination of football and rugby, and two teams of 11 players use a Gaelic football to score, which is tougher and smaller than a regular football.
