SoxFest will return next year, according to the announcement by the Chicago White Sox on Friday.
The fan event, which last took place in 2020, will occur on Jan. 24-25, 2025. More details such as location, official on-sale dates, programming, and scheduled appearances will be revealed later.
SoxFest has been a gathering that allows fans to meet former and current players, coaches, and prospects while looking ahead to the upcoming season.
The Sox mentioned in a release that SoxFest 2025 will maintain the same spirit of community-building, offering new and reimagined programming and experiences to engage guests in the world of White Sox baseball.
The most recent SoxFest, the 28th edition, took place in late January. 2020. The 2021 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2022 SoxFest was also canceled, with the Sox citing the challenges of predicting and managing COVID-19-related protocols in an indoor setting.
SoxFest did not take place last year “due to several factors,” the Sox said at the time. The Cubs have held their annual fan fest the last two years.
Friday’s announcement coincides with a event for season ticket holders at the Field Museum.
The return of SoxFest in 2025 will commemorate two milestones in the franchise’s history — the 20-year anniversary of the 2005 World Series championship team and the 125-year anniversary of the Chicago White Sox organization.
