NORRISTOWN — According to Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Lower Moreland Township Police Chief David J. Scirrotto, a woman in Lower Moreland was fatally shot on Saturday by her ex-husband, who then killed himself.
Durdona Sultanova, 43, was shot by her ex-husband, Al Allaberg, 44, at a residence in the 400 block of Carson Terrace in the Huntingdon Valley section of Lower Moreland Township, according to the joint announcement. Allaberg then killed himself, police said.
At 4:38 p.m., Lower Moreland Police were dispatched to the home after two young residents of the home called 911. Police arrived to find the bodies of Sultanova and Allaberg deceased in a walk-in closet in the master bedroom, according to the joint release.
Autopsies on the bodies were performed Sunday by Dr. Ian Hood, a forensic pathologist with the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
Dr. Hood found that Sultanova’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and the manner of death was homicide. Dr. Hood found that the cause of death for Allaberg was a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was suicide, police said.
No other information was released on Sunday.
