Coronation Street’s Cait Fitton has made an intriguing update to her Instagram, potentially providing a clue as to how Lauren Bolton’s storyline will conclude.
A few weeks ago, Lauren told Roy (David Neilson) that she’s planning on leaving Weatherfield to start her life again.
Later that day, friend Bobby (Jack Carroll) popped by the flat and found it completely empty. The radio was on, there was a bacon sandwich on the side, but no Lauren.
It was only in a recent episode of the ITV soap where the police started to grow suspicious of Lauren’s disappearance. After Sean (Antony Cotton) found blood in her flat, DS Swain (Vicky Myers) and Craig (Colson Smith) started an investigation.
The opening of the case led Swain and Craig to Roy, one of the last people to see the troubled young woman.

Roy explained to Swain and Craig that he was often seen looking out for Lauren, and popped by the flat to clean it as a favour for Evelyn (Maureen Lipman).
‘I guess because of his honesty and slight vulnerability, she sees that he’s almost too good to be true,’ Vicky Myers said when she spoke to Metro.co.uk about Roy’s involvement.
‘I think that’s perhaps the cynics that we may become as people and a community, in that this almost seems too good to be true,’ she explained. ‘Do people really genuinely go and help someone and support someone and give them a little bit extra after they’ve done something terrible, and they’re there with the generosity?’
‘She doesn’t know Roy, she doesn’t care about Roy. And irrelevant of what anyone else says to her, she deals in facts. She’s got to get to the bottom of this,’ Vicky insisted.
‘Irrelevant to what anyone else says about this much-loved character on the Street, she doesn’t care about that. That’s of no interest to her whatsoever.’
Right now, we know the police are treating Lauren’s disappearance as a murder due to the way she seemingly vanished into thin air, and the blood being found in her flat.
As it stands, it’s not been revealed that she has been killed, but has this development from Cait confirmed the ending of the plot?
Over on her Instagram, Cait’s bio currently says ‘Previously Lauren in Coronation Street’.
Given that she isn’t in the show right now, it could be a red herring, or perhaps she has left the ITV soap permanently?
In tonight’s episode of Coronation Street, DS Swain’s investigation will lead her to arresting Roy.
A devastating and shocking twist, but can Roy deal with the aftermath that will follow?
