A watchful homeowner who checked his security camera footage was surprised to see a group of masked criminals pulling a man into a van and driving away.
Ali Rafiq, 40, decided to look into the situation after hearing strange sounds outside his Bradford home last Wednesday.
One camera, overlooking the sidewalk on a quiet street of attached houses, captured two men emerging from behind a parked red van just after 11am.
On another camera, the pair – one in a hi-vis jacket, the other in a blue sweater – could be seen strolling down an alley before three masked men chased after them.
Shortly after, the man in the hi-vis jacket can be seen jogging back out onto the street.
He is soon followed by the three masked men, who are now carrying the man in the blue sweater as he kicks and fights to free himself.
At one point, the victim grabs a hold of a drainpipe and grips it so tightly that it breaks off the building as he is pulled away.
Mr Rafiq told MailOnline: ‘I felt guilty because I was at home at the time and thought I heard someone moaning and groaning – but I just assumed it was an argument.
‘It was only when I watched the footage back that I realized what had happened and immediately called the police.
‘If I hadn't been home and watched it back, nobody would have known it happened – it’s very frightening.’
It’s believed the man has since been found, although this could not immediately be confirmed.
West Yorkshire Police stated: ‘Police are looking into a report of abduction after a man was injured on Westcroft Road, Bradford at around 11.10am on Wednesday 6 March.
‘The victim sustained injuries to his jaw and ribs.
‘Investigations are ongoing by Bradford CID.’
