The solution to GCHQ’s annual mind-bender has finally been disclosed after millions of aspiring spies attempted to solve the puzzle.
Britain’s hundred-year-old spy organization shared the puzzle yesterday to attract new members who ‘think creatively’.
They stated: ‘To commemorate our debut on LinkedIn we’ve collaborated with artist Justin Eagleton to create this unique visual puzzle for you to solve.
‘In the image, there are 13 elements representing letters of the alphabet. Your mission is to spot those letters and put them together to reveal a concealed message.’
The rather psychedelic small puzzle pays tribute to GCHQ’s code-breaking origins, and a high-quality version is available for download here.
This is the solution to the GCHQ puzzle:
That confidential message can now be disclosed as ‘Journey to GCHQ’.
The puzzle includes a vibrant assortment of objects and individuals, such as their Gloucestershire office and Alan Turing.
A helicopter carrying an outdated television and an LGBTQ+ Pride flag is also visible in the image.
Director GCHQ, Anne Keast-Butler, mentioned that diversity is ‘crucial’ to the agency’s mission to ensure the safety of the country, which is why joining LinkedIn was an obvious choice.
‘The world is becoming more intricate, and the only way to stay ahead of those threats is by bringing together the right mix of individuals to tackle the challenges ahead,’ she stated.
‘For us, that entails bringing in people with various backgrounds, experiences, insights, and knowledge, and forming a team where everyone can contribute.’
