Thai Muslims are deeply involved in spirituality as they do the Taraweeh prayer at The Foundation of the Islamic Centre of Thailand, which is a sacred nightly tradition during Ramadan.
The term “Taraweeh” refers to the brief rest periods that happen every four rak’ahs (units of Islamic prayer) during the prayer session.
Typically, Muslims try to finish reciting the entire Quran throughout Ramadan during these prayers, with the Imam (prayer leader) reciting a portion of the Quran each night.
