A Motown legend whose career has lasted 70 years has announced that he might be playing Even though the festival is just a few months away – it will be held over the weekend between June 26 and 30 – Glastonbury.

Although Stevie Wonder was first rumored to be in talks to headline, this week it was reported that those negotiations had broken down, while co-organizer Emily Eavis is also rumored to be eager to secure Raye as a headliner too.
Now, Smokey Robinson, 84, has suggested that he could also perform at Worthy Farm.
After being asked when he will next perform in the UK, he didn’t mind sharing some details.
‘We’ve been discussing that for the past two weeks — probably soon,’ he told Bizarre at Elton John’s Oscars party in Los Angeles on Sunday.
When asked if he could be considering performing at Glastonbury, he continued: ‘That’s one of the things we’ve been discussing.’
He then went on to say that he would ‘definitely’ love to take the stage there.
‘I love the UK, man. We’ve had some of our greatest times in the UK,’ he added, as reported by The Sun.
An American R&B and soul singer, songwriter, record producer, and former record executive, Smokey was the founder and frontman of the pioneering Motown vocal group the Miracles.
He led the group from its 1955 origins, when they were called The Five Chimes, until 1972, when he retired from the group to focus on his role as Motown Records vice president.
He was later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
In 2007, organizer Michael Eavis said he was ‘set to confirm an appearance’, but it never happened.
He still performs regularly across North America, but if he does sign up for Glastonbury, it will be his first UK performance since Radio 2 Live In Hyde Park in 2013.
Other acts rumored to be appearing this year also include Coldplay, Dua Lipa, and Shania Twain.
