According to a source, the Patriots are signing guard Nick Leverett, who is a free agent, as reported by the Herald.
Leverett, who is 27 years old, has been with the Buccaneers for his entire career after not being selected in the draft from Rice in 2020.
In 2023, Leverett only participated in four special teams snaps, but in 2022, he started 10 games and played at left guard, center, and right guard. During that season, he didn’t allow a sack and gave up only 12 pressures in 761 offensive snaps.
Next season, the Patriots are likely to have Cole Strange at left guard, David Andrews at center, and Sidy Sow at right guard. By adding Leverett, they are increasing the number of players available and their versatility for the inside offensive line, where Jake Andrews, Michael Jordan, and Atonio Mafi are also in the team.
During this offseason, the Patriots have already extended the contract of offensive lineman Mike Onwenu and brought in offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor.
