Manchester United have made signing Juventus star Bremer a top priority this summer and the club are prepared to trigger a £43million release clause in his contract.
The Brazilian, 26, joined Juventus from Torino in 2022 for a fee of around £35m.
Since joining the Old Lady, Bremer has made 70 appearances in all competitions and scored an impressive seven goals, including five in his first season.
The defender signed a new deal with Juventus in 2023, but that included a release clause of around £43m.
And, according to the i, it’s that release clause that has really caught United’s eye.
The club want to sign at least one defender this summer, as it’s been virtually impossible to play a high line with Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof.
While Everton’s Jarrod Braithwaite is a top target, the Toffees could charge around £75m for the defender.
Bremer is therefore seen as a more affordable target, particularly given United’s Financial Fair Play limitations.
But should the club raise around £100m in player sales, they will also look to buy Braithwaite.
Casemiro, Antony, Donny van de Beek, Varane, Lindelof and Jadon Sancho could all leave this summer.
But money is tight at the club, particularly as co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks into the best way to fund a redvelopment of Old Trafford or a complete refurbishment.
