Arsenal are into the Champions League quarter-final draw after beating Porto on penalties on Tuesday evening.
After a 1-0 loss in the first leg in Portugal last month, Mikel Arteta’s team pulled even on total goals in the second leg on Tuesday night with Leandro Trossard’s first-half goal.
However, the Gunners were unable to score a second goal and after a tense 30 minutes of extra time, the match went to a penalty shootout.
David Raya became Arsenal’s hero by saving two Porto penalties, ensuring a 4-2 win in the shootout.
Arsenal will now focus on the Champions League quarter-final draw, which will occur at 11am on March 15.
Arsenal face a challenging draw with several top teams still in the competition.
Premier League rivals Manchester City are a potential opponent after they easily defeated FC Copenhagen last week.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, and possibly Atletico Madrid, who will play Inter in their last-16 second leg on Wednesday evening, are potential opponents for the Gunners.
Bayern Munich remain one of the top contenders to win the competition after defeating Lazio last week, while Paris Saint-Germain are also in good form as they eliminated Real Sociedad.
The Champions League quarter-final first legs will be played on April 9 and 10, and the second legs will be played on April 16 and 17.
