NEW YORK (AP) — And away we go. The Oscars red carpet started on Sunday for Hollywood’s big night with a display of black, metallics and another stunning gown worn by Laverne Cox.
Erika Alexander, from “American Fiction,” wore a white strapless dress with a black skirt trimmed in pastel tulle. The designer, Christian Siriano, said it was created in just four days, a remarkable feat.
Cox, walking the carpet for E!, embodied the essence of classic Hollywood glamour in a black and low-cut gold dress, her hair styled high as she wore a delicate neck piece that trailed behind. Her look is from vintage Mugler.
Scott George, a member of the Osage Nation and the first Indigenous person to be nominated for an Oscar for best original song, was among the early arrivals in a gray outfit trimmed in green and purple, with a matching tie.
Red, a popular color of the awards season, had some early fans as arrivals increased.
