The show will begin at 4 p.m., which is an hour earlier than usual, on ABC with late-night TV funnyman Jimmy Kimmel hosting for the fourth time. “Oppenheimer” leads the group of nominees with 13 nominations, including Best Picture. The top award definitely looks like it will be won by Christopher Nolan’s three-hour epic.
In fact, there's not much suspense in several categories tonight, except for Best Actress. Front-runners Emma Stone and Lily Gladstone delivered extremely successful performances in “Poor Things” and “Killers of the Flower Moon,” respectively. Both won at the Golden Globes when they were nominated in different categories for comedy and drama. First-time nominee Gladstone appears to have a slight advantage, having won at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. If she wins, she will be the first Native American to receive an acting award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
