King Charles is pictured kissing his mother’s hand in a sweet photo released today to celebrate Mother’s Day.
The photo, which was shared on the official royal family social media, has the caption: ‘Wishing all Mothers, and those who are missing their Mums today, a peaceful Mothering Sunday.’
This is the second time he is celebrating the day without her, as she passed away at the age of 96 on September 8, 2022, at Balmoral.
The chosen black and white photo to mark the occasion shows the Queen smiling during a polo match her son was part of in 1985.
Mother’s Day 2024 had a difficult start for the royal family, after a car crashed into the gates of Buckigham Palace in the early hours of the morning.
A man was arrested for criminal damage, with dramatic footage showing armed police yelling ‘Keep your hands on your head!’
