A woman has been apprehended on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in a house fire.
Firefighters, law enforcement, and medical responders hurried to the location on Preston Road, Brighton, earlier today.
The deceased, a 50-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 36-year-old woman has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder.
Preston Road, a heavily used thoroughfare in the city, was closed while the fire department dealt with the fire.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police stated: 'Investigations to determine the circumstances are currently ongoing and anyone with relevant information is urged to come forward.'
