Early this morning, a man was fatally stabbed in an apparent deliberate attack.
At 5.19am, the ambulance service alerted the police to a victim injured in Cambridge.
Following the incident in Carlton Way, he was declared dead at 6.10am.
No arrests have been made yet as the police have begun a murder investigation and the perpetrator is still at large.
Detective Chief Inspector Katie Dounias said: ‘Although the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed until a post-mortem examination is carried out, we suspect that the man was stabbed in a focused attack.
‘We are pursuing multiple leads and conducting inquiries to locate those responsible, but no arrests have been made yet.’
Carlton Way is situated in the northern part of the university city.
‘We urge anyone who was in the area early this morning or anyone with information to contact us urgently.’
