Ramadan is one of the most sacred and significant times in the Islamic calendar – with fasting starting on March 11.
Muslims across the UK and globally celebrate the revelation of the Qur’an and begin 30 days of fasting during daylight hours.
The festival officially starts on Monday, March 11, as per Islamic Relief, although this depends on the sighting of the moon, as the Holy month of Ramadan shifts by about ten days each year.
During Ramadan, fasting begins before sunrise with Suhoor and ends with Iftar after sunset – and the specific times vary depending on your location.
Suhoor can be consumed until the start of the 'first light' of dawn. Suhoor is eaten before Fajr time.
For those in London, the following dates are accompanied by two times – Fajr and Iftar:
Remember that these are London times, provided by Islamic Relief from the East London Mosque.
