Gary Goldsmith has been seen for the first time since getting evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house, which has reportedly allowed the Palace to breathe a huge sigh of relief.
The businessman – who is the uncle of Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales – was was kicked out of the CBB compound on Friday night after facing off with Lauren Simon, who got the most nominations from her fellow housemates.
Gary left the house to a crowd of boos after dividing opinion with his royal revelations during his five-day Celebrity Big Brother stint.
Stepping out in London after returning to normal life, Gary cut a casual figure as he wore checkered trousers and a long-sleeved white top.
Keeping a low profile, he wore sunglasses over his eyes and sported a forlorn expression.
His sighting comes after Gary was supposedly ‘read the right act’ ahead of entering the house, having ‘infuriated’ his sister, Carole Middleton, by signing up.
It was previously claimed that Gary had sparked panic in the palace, due to the uncertainty around what he might say on national TV about the institution.
According to The Sun, Gary’s sister feared he could spill secrets on the show.
A source said: ‘Gary said he’s been read the riot act by Kate’s mum Carole and her dad Michael.
‘They aren’t happy he’s going into Celebrity Big Brother.’
‘It is infuriating for them,’ the insider added.
‘Kate doesn’t need this stress.’
It comes as the Princess takes time away from public duties to recover at home following abdominal surgery over a month ago.
Meanwhile, now royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has suggested Gary’s eviction will be good news for the Middletons who ‘will have pleaded with him not to go on Big Brother’.
He added to MailOnline: ‘I certainly wouldn’t want to be in his shoes when he and Carole Middleton next meet up!’
‘Good riddance to Uncle Gary,’ he said. ‘He thought he could trade on his royal connections, but the public will not have forgotten his conviction for assault in 2017 despite the hype surrounding his appearance. He had nothing to offer other than mumbled platitudes.
‘These were, however, embarrassing, especially during this stressful period, for the royal family. However, the public sent him to the Tower early as he proved to be an abominable No-Man.’
Among the controversial opinions he shared while in the house were Gary’s views on politics.
He also addressed the secrecy surrounding his niece’s whereabouts, as she will not be returning to public-facing duties until June.
In a conversaation with presenter Fern Britton, Gary said of Kate’s health: ‘She’s getting the best care in the world and all the family has done is put the wagons around and look after family.
They released a statement saying they will take a break and return by Easter.
She is incredible, and she will definitely return.
The show Celebrity Big Brother will keep airing tomorrow at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
