Big Brother legend Brian Dowling is going to be a dad again with his partner Arthur Gourounlian.
The winner of the second-ever series of Big Brother UK and former host of the show on Channel 5, Brian welcomed his first child with Arthur in 2022, a daughter they named Blake.
Now the couple are expecting again, Brian making the overjoyed announcement on Instagram – with the help of soon-to-be big sister Blake.
Featuring a series of photos of the 18-month-old wearing a jumper with the words ‘promoted to big sister,’ Brian wrote: ‘Our family is going to get bigger.
‘We @gourounlian are so excited about the arrival of Baby Dowling Gourounlian Number 2 this Summer!’
He added: ‘We have already been so blessed with Blake we can’t believe how lucky we are as parents to welcome another baby to our family. Blake is going to be the BEST BIG SISTER EVER.’
In the snaps, Blake is dressed all in peach colours, including an oversized bow on her head, as she grins for the camera.
Brian and Arthur welcomed Blake in September 2022 with the help of Brian’s sister Aoife, who acted as a surrogate for the couple.
Their story aired as a documentary on Irish national broadcaster RTE, titled Brian and Arthur’s Very Modern Family, which he called ‘a very open and honest look at our lives’.
However the couple have faced ‘vile’ homophobia for raising their daughter, and shortly after Blake was born Brian took to Instagram to share some of the messages he’d received from people, including one in response to him saying Blake wasn’t settling for bed which said ‘she wants her mother.’
‘Messages like this make me sad but also so very angry. @gourounlian and I get messages like this rather often,’ he wrote at the time.
‘I’m not sure if the people sending them are IGNORANT or just plain VILE.’
‘That person was obviously trying to rile and upset me, and it did. But f**k ‘em, it is what it is – love will always win,’ the reality star insisted.
He has heaped praise on sister Aoife for helping him and Arthur to start their family, calling her an ‘absolutely incredible human’.
Brian and Arthur have been married for seven years but kept their baby journey private before, announcing in May 2022 they were expecting a child, before sharing their happy arrival with the world that September.
The Irish star shot to fame in 2001 for winning Big Brother, and later went on to win Ultimate Big Brother in his return to the house.
He also hosted the reboot of the show when it was on Channel 5, replacing Davina McCall, but was replaced by Emma Willis in 2013.
