Eddie Hearn claims Anthony Joshua still wants to fight Deontay Wilder after defeating Francis Ngannou.
Joshua showed an outstanding performance in Saudi Arabia by knocking out Ngannou in two rounds on Friday evening.
The two-time heavyweight champion is now waiting for the result of Tyson Fury’s unification fight against Oleksandr Usyk on May 18 and is in a strong position to fight the winner, although both Fury and Usyk have a rematch clause as part of their agreement.
Wilder, however, was defeated by Joseph Parker in his last match in December and there are doubts about whether the 38-year-old will compete again.
But Hearn says a possible fight with Wilder could be an option for Joshua.
‘Honestly, he [Joshua] wants to fight everyone,’ Hearn told Boxing Now.
‘He gets excited to test himself, he still wants to fight Wilder, he wants to fight [Joseph] Parker again.
‘That’s what he said tonight, they asked, ‘who do you prefer?’, he said, ‘honestly, let’s fight them both’.
‘I don’t know how long he’s going to keep going but right now it’s certainly going to be another three, five, seven fights.
‘Whilst he’s fresh and Ben [Davison] is doing a great job [training Joshua], why not keep going?
‘I really believe he’s going to be an undisputed champion. There were times when I said it and the doubts were creeping in but the team up with Ben and Lee [Wylie, fight strategist], they’ve just done a brilliant job, they’ve got him believing again, everything he’s learning along the way, he’s just a complete fighter now.’
Hearn, however, is certain that Joshua will defeat Fury with another KO win.
‘If Fury wins, AJ against Fury is the biggest fight in the history of the sport,’ Hearn said.
Asked how Joshua beats Fury, Hearn said: ‘He knocks him spark out with a right hand like that [the KO vs Ngannou].’
In a separate interview, Hearn added: ‘He knocks him out, AJ knocks Tyson Fury out.
‘I respect Tyson, I’ve enjoyed being around him this week and I really hope he wins [against Usyk] but I’m sorry, he cannot beat Anthony Joshua like this.’
