No Labels, a political organization formed to gain backing for a presidential candidate from a third party, has chosen to officially enter the 2024 election.
Following a gathering of state delegates in a private meeting on Friday, the decision was made to push forward with the anticipated objective of participating in the White House competition.
No Labels National Convention Chair Mike Rawlings stated, “Today, I led a discussion with 800 No Labels delegates from all 50 states. These citizen leaders have spent months deliberating the type of leadership they wish to see in the White House in 2024.”
“They overwhelmingly agreed to continue our 2024 project and to promptly identify candidates to serve on the Unity presidential ticket. Every delegate had their own reason for wanting to move forward,” he added.
“Now that No Labels has received approval from our delegates, we will expedite our candidate outreach and announce the process for selecting candidates for the Unity Ticket on Thursday, March 14,” he added.
This meeting followed a week of voting on Super Tuesday, which revealed President Biden and former President Trump as the likely candidates for the Democratic and Republican parties.
For a long time, No Labels leaders have argued that voters are highly dissatisfied with both Biden and Trump, making a case for a third-party candidacy.
Polling also indicates that many voters are open to considering Independent and third-party candidates amid strong partisanship and discontent with both major parties.
The group has expressed willingness to include both Democrats and Republicans and intends to serve as a “unity” choice for discontented voters.
