Police in Trang, a southern province, have arrested a 60-year-old Swiss person who is accused of attacking a Thai woman.
Natchanan Kikkham went to the police on Tuesday and said that the man had bumped into her at a department store and then walked away. She asked him to be polite, but he came back and reportedly attacked her.
Krittapong, Natchanan’s son, informed the police that the Swiss man was leaving after the alleged attack when his mother threw a bottle at him. The man returned and struck his mother again.
According to Krittapong, his mother had a broken nose, as well as severe injuries to her face, eyes, and back. She was taken to the hospital's emergency room for treatment.
Although he is staying in Thailand on a retirement visa that expires in November, the Swiss national has refused to provide any statements, as per the police.
