No less than 1 million birth control pills have been taken from the shelves by big pharma Pfizer in the United States because they might not contain enough contraceptive to prevent pregnancy. Whoa! Wait just a moment there. They might not have enough contraceptive? As in, if I took the pills, I might get pregnant? Not quite what many women want to hear, actually, and all because of a packaging error!
“As a result of this packaging error, the daily regimen for these oral contraceptives may be incorrect and could leave women without adequate contraception, and at risk for unintended pregnancy,” according to a Pfizer statement on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website.
First of all, how can you speak with this degree of uncertainty? How can you say the daily regimen ‘might’ be incorrect, and not know what’s in the pills you sell yourself ?! This is just not normal, and should not happen, all the more in the 21th century!
But hey, don’t think other companies are any better.
