NASA isn’t going through its best period, but it’s not all bad for the American space agency; just recently, they successfully attached a contact microphone and video camera to one of the solid rocket boosters and recorded the launch.
The sounds and video that are recorded show how it enters space, separates from the shuttle and then falls back to earth; you may find the first part a little boring, because nothing really happens, but after about 1:50, it gets really interesting and eerie, when you can see and hear the sparks which point to the booster separation. You then get to “spin” and see the Earth from outer space, and then see the booster fall down in the black space.
Finally, you see the giant parachutes open and take a plunge in the ocean; one of THE best videos from NASA I’ve seen in years !
